CONSUMER RIGHTS CAMPAIGN
The foundation celebrates the World Consumer Rights Day from 15th March, 2017 to 20th March and for this purpose events were organized on daily basis in the nearby localities and in three
government school in Old Faridabad to make people aware of the rights available
under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. In schools target was the staff
because they can impart this knowledge to students. The program organized quiz
also and audiences were provided snacks also. There is huge response for the
campaign and people show their willingness in knowing the basic rules governing
the consumer interest. Also they actively raise their queries to know precaution before and after purchasing goods & services. The participants
also informed about local authority to which they can make the request and procedure to file a request and remedies available in various circumstances.
Also they take initiative to convey the same to other people also.
CLEAN ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN
To promote cleanliness and to give contribution to “SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN” Aagan foundation organized a program under one of its project to educate children about hygiene & cleanliness. As in early stage only good habits can incorporated in children. So the target for this activity is school. 16 number of programs were oraganised in Government schools (7th April, 25th April, 9th May, 12th May, 13th July, 23th July, 08th August, 23th August, 09th September, 19th September, 24th October, 26th November, 28th December, 30th January, 12th February, 14th March) in Delhi/NCR. In this children are educated about habits before eating and after eating, disposal of eating waste to dustbins, to clean own space after doing activity etc. Importance of Hygiene and cleanliness also explain to children using video, pictures etc. Children actively participated in the activities.
During the year, the financial help was extended to four individuals, namely Kailash Chander for pavement shop for choley kulche; Ramdin for vegetable rehri, Akbar for roadside tea stall and bhagatram for opening of momos outlet on outside. All the four are able to earn their livelihood. All four are in Faridabad district.
100% SCHOLARSHIP FOR ADMISSION IN 10th
PROGRAM : EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT
Aagan foundation through its one of the Project- 100% scholarship for admission in 10th continuously makes efforts to provide education to the needy. This year it provides scholarship to 11 students who were not able to pursue studies on their own. The students are selected randomly and admitted in National School of Open Learning. The students are performing well and make effort to continue their further studies.
POLYTHENE FREE STREET CAMPAIGN
Every citizen has some responsibility to make the society and environment better in which they are living. To give its contribution Aagan Foundation has incorporate “Cleanliness Drive” in its mission. The Polythene Free Street Campaign on 16.11.2014 in public function held at Faridabad. In continuation of the same the foundation took more initiative awareness program during the year. Total 18 such programs (4th April, 22nd April, 6th May, 18th May, 12th July, 28th July, 04th August, 18th August, 27th August, 03rd September, 14th September, 22nd September, 23rd September, 24th September, 26th Spetember, 28th September, 30th September, 12th October) were organized in Government School for children of 9-12 standards; in public school for children of 6-8 standard and also for class IV and field staff including transport staff. The program were organised in NCR region. The all the programs focussed on individual efforts for cleanliness and were in quiz form wherein audiences were given medallion, reusable bags and stickers. The response to the campaign was enthusiastic and every led to another program.
ENVIRONMENT AND PLANTATION CAMPAIGN
To protect the environment which protects us is everyone’s moral responsibility. Better environment will only provide a better living. To attain this motto the foundation organise a campaign for spreading awareness for protection of environment and providing ways for it. Tree plantation also forms part of the campaign. The Campaign comprises of 10 events (17th July, 19th October, 5th December, 28th December, 15th January, 30th January, 12th February, 24th February, 14th March, 27th March ) at various places in NCR (Haryana Region). Target is to pick that area where there is lack of Plantation space. The event is organised in two parts: First is educating and second is practical implementation. Household who have no outdoor space for plantation are informed about the ways how to use maximum of the indoor and roof space and knowledge of indoor and outdoor plants along with live plantation is given
CLEAN ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN
Aagan Foundation following its motto “Cleanliness Drive” makes continuous effort to make the environment clean & healthy. Clean Environment Campaign on 6th October, 2015 for the students of age group of 14-15 years of Mayoor School, Noida was organized with the motive of giving self-awareness on “CLEAN ENVIRONMENT”. Play is conducted for the purpose and teams are distributed and the winning team was awarded with medal and certificate. The members also explain them the importance of cleanliness through pictures, clip-arts, videos and activities. Students interestingly participate in the activities conducted and learn how to keep the environment clean by following simple methods in minimal time.
PLANT A TREE CAMPAIGN
“PLANT A TREE CAMPAIGN” scheduled to be organized on 5th, January, 2016 at the Community Centre, Sector 21D, Faridabad. Members actively participate in the event. To protect the environment trees are the basic need. The every participant plant and adopt a tree and take pledge to plant a tree on their birthdays.
AIDS AND CANCER AWARENESS
The foundation is started taking measure to spread awareness about Aids & Cancer which are the most dangerous diseases which can’t be cured if got to know in last stages. There are the people of lower sections of the society who don’t even know about these and their prevention measures. If you get to know about these in starting stage then only measures were taken to cure them. For this awareness camp was organized on what are the precautions & habits to safeguard ourselves from these deadly diseases. The camp was of five days (21st Jan, 2016- 25th Jan, 2016) at different slum area. The target of the activity is the slum area of Old Faridabad and the specialist doctor took part and explained the risks, safeguards and precautions. A short film also demonstrates the same in a simple and easy language.
The foundation organized a campaign for drug abused person to give knowledge about its bad effects. The event took place in nearby villages of Faridabad i.e. Prithla, Jharsetli, Sikri on 21st June, 27th October and 6th December to impart the youngsters awareness of the Drug effects. Films are shown to educate the people and how the youngsters who are illiterate or not having proper knowledge can wrongfully confine in the trap of drug smugglers. They were asked to safeguard themselves and their families from drug addiction. The villagers were convinced and keen to take the advantage from the programme. At the end quiz was organize to test their knowledge and prizes were also distributed among the winners to motivate them for further participation and encouraging them. Such competition helps in raising the level of confidence of the people.
POLYTHENE FREE STREET CAMPAIGN
- Brain Storming Session
- AAGAN Foundation Organized Brainstorming Session “Vichar Gosthi” involving educated class and created awareness amongst the participants.
- First session: – First session was organized on 9th November, 2014 at Faridabad for male members of the Society.
Selected Residents of Sector-21D, Faridabad turned out in large numbers and actively expressed their thoughts to take the Initiative forward and urged to formally launch the campaign soon. Following initiatives were decided:-
(1) Formal launch on 16th November, 2014 at 8.30 a.m.
(2) To simultaneously launch “Old Cloth for Cleaning Campaign”
(3) To explore the possibility of involvement of children by way of “From NO Use to ON Use” Campaign.
- The design and format of “Vichar Gosthi” conducted by AAGAN foundation at Faridabad was appreciated by one and all.
- Public Launch Phase-I and Pledge
Aagan Foundation started Polythene Free Street Campaign on 16.11.2014 in public function held at Faridabad. The Phase – 1 of the campaign was launched by newly elected MLA of Badhkal Constituency Smt. Seema Trikha Ji.
AWARENESS CAMP ON ENVIRONMENT
This organisation arranged a camp discuss the impact of growing pollution on the human health and environment. The eminent speakers discussed the factors leading to increase in all types of pollutions including water, air and sound pollution. It was felt that there is need to speed the process of removing old vehicles, reduce the use of plastics. Compulsory use of effluent treatment plants by the industries and all other methods. Which can be helpful in reducing and controlling the pollution. On the same day the society organized a programme comprising of a painting contest and debate the issues concerning pollution. The participants were 25 students of different schools. At the end of the programme prizes were distributed among the women’s of the contest.
FAMILY PLANNING, HEALTH CAMP AND WOMEN WELFARE PROGRAMME
The organization educated an awareness programme for family planning and child health in the conference hall of the society for two days. A seminar was organized on 12.06.2013. The programme was attended by 200 participants from various local women association representative of voluntary of NGOs and clubs etc. the society high level of reluctance on part of the villagers to adopt the family planning methods, the population explosion has taken place causing deterioration in the available resources like Food, Education, Housing Employment opportunities etc. At the end of the camp condoms and contraceptive pills were distributed among the villagers. The villagers were encouraged to adapt the notion of only one child per couple, further it is observed that many couples in anticipation of one male child give birth to number of girl children. The participants highly appreciated this education programme.
EDUCATION AND COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAMME
Considering very high level of illiteracy, the society with the help of the volunteers, organize education programme on regular basis in slum area of Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri. In the financial year society organized computer education awareness and computer training programme. In computer training center there was training programme for young school children’s. Many young ones become confident to work on computer. We have many names in our registration list those are interested to get training. The computer training center in which young school children were given training about the basic operation of computers with very nominal fees.
ADULT EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAMME
The Aagan Foundation has been provided education training programme to 70youth in slum area of Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri with an objective of involving them for the development of our youth group. Some outside resources persons from NGO’s were also invited to conduct the sessions. Due to these inputs, this society has developed a confidence power among the youth and takes a step to remove the problem of unemployment in society.
LITERACY TRAINING CAMP
The Aagan Foundation has been provided Literacy Training Camp for 8 days.75 youth in slum area of Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri with an objective of involving them for the development the knowledge of literacy for our youth group. Some outside resource persons from NGO’s were also invited to conduct the sessions. Due to these inputs, this society has developed a confidence power among the youth and takes a step to remove the problem of illiteracy from the society.
WOMEN VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME
The Aagan Foundation is continued to engage women welfare this year and target of society is to trained rural woman for their self- employment. The society arranged 3 training center of tailoringand cutting for women in slum area of Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri. This training center is attended by 90 women especially from downtrodden, victim of domestic violence and widow.

HANDICAPPED TRAINING PROGRAMME
Since the year 2011 of November in slum area of Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri , the organisation has been running handicapped training programme for 75 disabled persons by providing free training in Computer, Craft,Mat weaving and Typing. Keeping in mind the objective of self employment , handicapped by reducing the problem of employment the society have been instrumental in taking various concrete steps in the direction of removal of the poverty. Another such milestone has been achieved by the society by successfully running a typing and short hand training centre. During the period under review 70 students were imparted training in typing and shorthand.
HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING CAMP
The organization carried out a free family welfare and immunization camp on 5th and 6th nov. 2012 at Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri. The camp was organised collaboration with medical officer. More than 65 women’s considering very high level of reluctance on the part of the villagers to adapt the family planning methods, the population explosion has taken place causing deterioration in the available resources like Food, Education, Housing Employment opportunities etc. A camp was organized by the society to raise awareness about the bad effects of the disproportionate growth in the population. Help of audio visual techniques was taken to make the presentation more effective. At the end of the camp condoms and contraceptive pills were distributed among the villagers.
AIDS AND CANCER PROGRAMME
The designated senior workers organized an “Awareness camp” how to safe guard ourselves from deadly diseases of aids which pare spreading not only in our country but in the whole world. The specialist doctor took part and explained the villagers of Landing about the risk of the diseases and what are the safe guards and protections.
ELIMINATION OF CHILD LABOUR PROGRAMME
The Aagan Foundation is already involved in the current goals to identify and resolve the “worst forms” of child labour; these are defined as any form of labour that negatively impacts child’s normal development. A block level programme on the Elimination of Child Labour was created by Aagan Foundation especially in slum area of Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri. There are lots of child labours engaged in small factory of artificial flowers making in above blocks. Through this programs, it operates around this area seeks the removal of child labour from this area.
YEAR 2011 -12
AWARENESS PROGRAM FOR WOMEN AWARENESS
The Aagan Foundation organized Women Awareness (female feticide) camps in three places at Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri regarding capacity building; legal literacy camp and about 100 women and children were participated in this camp to provide 10 self help of women of income generation programme. The programme was attended by people from all walks of the life and it was felt by the attendant that these kinds of programmes are very useful in the society like ours, where women’s awareness about their fundamental rights is very low. Further, they were informed about various kinds of schemes formed and executed by different govt. Department for welfare of the women’s either, in education, employment or technical guidance etc. and realized the need for education and agreed to send their children particularly the girl child to school, further, it was resolved that the society will further organized similar programmes in the near future.
ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Aagan Foundation organized one seminar with camp “Environment Day” at slum area of Sultanpuri & Mangolpuri to provide seminar impact of growing pollution the human health and environment. Pollution day, the society organized a programme comprising of a painting contest and a debate on the issues concerning pollution. Thirty students were participated in this programme to make the trainees so skilled that they may become self– dependent. We also distribute plants free of cost to the Citizens for plantation.
DRUG ABUSED AND DEDICATION CAMP
We create camp for Drug Abused person and give knowledge about its bad effects. About 400 persons attended in our camp. Programmes were also organized in view of the villages on the important of non- formal education. In 10 villages, films were also shown to educate the people on various issues. The issue was discussed in details and with examples. They were asked to safe themselves and their families form the addiction. The villagers were convinced and took the advantage of the programme.
FOOD PROCESSING CAMP CUM SEMINAR
Cconsidering the availability of raw materials in plenty, the society organized a training camp on scope in the food processing industry. The camp was attended by many youths. Some of these youths have started the own food processing units and are earning their livelihood. A seminar was organized by the society on the food processing industry, The main theme of the seminar was the opportunities available in the food processing industry in particular reference to the NGO’s.
